As the only child of a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing, I’ve have always been exposed to people with hearing difficulties. I have many fond memories of trying to learn sign language and communicate with my mom’s students. My mother, who knew I enjoyed the elderly population, suggested I look into Audiology in college. I took the first class and immediately fell in love! I was grateful to find a profession that worked with all age groups and allowed me to help improve people’s quality of life.
