- If you’re a smoker, you need to stop! As we know, smoking is already a bad habit but it can be even worse on your sinuses, due to the fact that the smoke weakens the natural bacteria in your sinuses. This can cause the membrane of your sinus wall to become inflamed and result in infection.
- The occasional drink is understandable after a long day at the office. But try to stay away from a lot of alcohol consumption, as it can have the same effects that smoking has on your sinuses.
- Help break up the mucus with a saline spray to allow your sinuses to naturally drain on their own. Saline sprays can help to avoid a blockage of bacteria and fungi which can lead to sinus further sinus infections.
- Use a humidifier or steam from a hot shower to add a little moisture to your sinuses which can help you breathe more easily.
